I made the Call Me name tag holder for all my future quilt market etc needs. I’m headed to h + h Americas soon and I finally remembered to make one of these instead of using the plastic holder. 🩵 It was such a great skill builder too. There are a ton of techniques in one item. I said my final goodbyes to Joann Fabrics. Ours has been a complex relationship of highs and lows starting 30 years ago when I worked at my local store as a high school student. 👶🏼 I will always credit Joann’s as being the place that I was introduced to the beauty of quilting and the concept of buying a fabric stash. So thank for you that and the epic @dsquilts fabric lines that were briefly there (I still have some on bolts). We will let our frustrations over stock and employees and coupons etc all go. The app can now be deleted. 💚 I’m excited to see how the world of makers creates new spaces to gather. I hope to see more local places flourish. #endoftheworldasweknowit #joannfabrics #goodbye

I am going through some of @patternsbyannie free patterns and teaching myself how Annie says to actually use her Soft and Stable. I started with this first pattern available on her website for free. 💚 It is so freaking cute!! And now has a happy home on my sewing machine. The story of the quilt that doesn’t want to be made. This was supposed to be the cover quilt for a new pattern, but it really doesn’t want to be a cover girl 😳. It all started when my cat threw up on my JUST FINISHED quilt…okay, annoying…but I guess I’ll just wash this one and enjoy it with crinkly goodness. Washed it as I do all of my quilts and disaster unfolded. 1️⃣ crazy bearding of the wool batting. I’ve cleaned up a TON so it doesn’t look horrible but I’ve never had a batting used by a long arm quilter do that. 2️⃣ something else must be off with this batting because it shrunk like crazy and unevenly. I’m considering trying to block it to reshape it. 3️⃣ and if all that wasn’t enough, even if I do fix those things, the navy blue fabric bled all over my white background fabric. Quite obviously in some places and making it look dingy in general. 😭 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 This is my second time making this quilt and my second problem quilt. I’m starting to think it is cursed. 👿🥴🙃😅

I created this digital version of my #veiledsugges

I created this digital version of my #veiledsuggestionquilt that I made for @tulapink for her #fullmoonforest2fabric collection back in the fall. I made her a custom rainbow layout and now you can make it too! I had f8 of the solids and fq of the true colors and 1/2 yard to 1 yard cuts of fabric from her collection. Fussy cutting the large owls probably took the most fabric…so just prepare to get more yardage for the biggest designs.
