Hi! I'm Angela Pingel
designer, author, instructor and quilter
I am a 40's something wife and mom, winding my way between family life and fabric. I've been sewing for as long as I can remember, and even did various super cool things such as making my own prom dress, a quilt for my college dorm room and even my flower girl dresses. Well, those things might be cool now, but they definitely weren’t then.
I am the author of the book A Quilter’s Mixology, on quilting using variations of the Drunkard’s Path block. I also create independent sewing patterns, including the best selling Book Nerd pattern, available here on my website and at your favorite seller of all things fabric!
I have filmed a DVD on sewing curves, available through Quilting Arts, and also have a class on Craftsy, using precuts to make disappearing blocks. I have been published in numerous magazines and books including Modern Blocks, Sweet Celebrations, Playful Little Paper-Pieced Projects, Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Vol. 5, 101 Patchwork Projects, Modern Patchwork Magazine, Quilt Scene Magazine, and more.
You can find me sharing even more thoughts on my current projects here on the website and through my fun newsletter, Frayed Around the Edges. And of course, please look for me on the social media of your choice under the name @angelapingel.
I currently resides in South Bend, IN, (Go Irish!) and can be found either in my sewing room, driving my daughter to and from dance, or reading yet another book. I'm lucky enough to have a husband who enjoys cooking and crafting a cocktail.
